In today's high tech world, we have come a long way from the big electron-tube television. We have choices between rear-projection television cabinets and front-projection systems using the latest LCD and DLP technologies.
Different models and types of rear-projection televisions have been around for years. Today's models usually feature build-in LCD or DLP projectors within the cabinet.
After a brief foray into the market in the 1970's, front-projection television systems settled down and died for a while. The advances in LCD projectors in recent years have been a boon to the home theater market. The computer projector market has driven more pixels, more intensity and more vibrant colors -- again and again and again. Today's front projectors are economically priced. Of course, you still need to mount them from the ceiling, turn a wall into a video screen and minor details like that. If you have an understanding spouse, or your own study, you've got it made...
